How to sell on WhatsApp: catalogue, orders and payment links
From a customer asking "do you have this?" to a delivered, paid order, all inside one WhatsApp conversation. The pieces you need and how they fit together.

Start with the catalogue
Customers decide faster when they can see the product. Put your products, prices and photos in a catalogue and sync it to WhatsApp, so a customer can browse and ask about an item without leaving the chat.
You can add products in Karyagrah and sync them to your WhatsApp catalogue, or connect a store such as Shopify or WooCommerce.
Take the order in the chat
When a customer is ready, the order can be taken in the same conversation: the item, quantity, delivery address and whether they want cash on delivery or to pay online. A bot or the Sahayak AI agent can guide them through it, asking for one detail at a time, and hand over to a person if something unusual comes up.
Collect payment with a link
For online payment, send a payment link in the chat. The customer pays by UPI, card or netbanking on their phone, and the order marks itself paid. The money settles into your own account with your own gateway (Razorpay, Cashfree, PayU or Stripe), never through us.
A payment link also works for balance payments, deposits and re-orders.
Ship it and keep them informed
Book a courier from the order, and send tracking updates automatically as the order moves from placed to packed, out for delivery and delivered. Customers who can see where their parcel is send far fewer "where is my order?" messages.
If something comes back, the return can be handled in the same thread, with the same history in front of your team.
Follow up on what did not convert
Not everyone pays on the first message. Set a follow-up on chats where the customer asked but did not order, and send an approved template reminder the next day. Add a list such as Waiting for payment so nothing sits unnoticed.
Make the catalogue easy to buy from
Use one clear product name, a real price, two or three useful photos and a description that answers the buying question: size, material, colour, delivery area or what is included. Keep variants and stock accurate so the chat does not promise something the business cannot fulfil. Group related items logically and retire old products instead of leaving customers to discover that they are unavailable.
A catalogue is not only a gallery. Each product should lead naturally to the next action—ask a question, choose a variant or add it to an order.
Protect the payment and fulfilment experience
Send payment links only from the verified business conversation and state the order, amount and refund or cancellation terms before the customer pays. The payment page should belong to the business's configured gateway; never ask a customer to send card details in chat. Confirm successful payment automatically, but route failed or disputed payments to a person.
Track catalogue views, product enquiries, orders created, payment completion and delivery outcomes. Those numbers show whether the problem is product information, checkout friction or fulfilment—not simply a lack of messages. After delivery, ask for feedback and obtain fresh consent before adding the customer to promotional broadcasts.

Frequently asked questions
Do I need a website to sell on WhatsApp?
No. You can run a catalogue and take orders entirely in WhatsApp. If you have a store on Shopify or WooCommerce, it can be connected.
Where does the money go?
Into your own payment gateway account. Karyagrah sends the link and records the payment, but never holds your money.
Can I ship from the same screen?
Yes. You can book couriers such as Shiprocket and Delhivery and send tracking updates to the customer automatically.
Can an AI agent help with orders?
Yes. Sahayak can show products from your catalogue, check order status and send payment links, and hands over to your team for anything unusual.
