Meta One explained: what it means for businesses that use WhatsApp
Meta has launched a paid subscription called Meta One. Here is what the plans include for WhatsApp, what Meta has not said yet, and whether your business needs it.

The short answer
Meta One is a paid subscription from Meta that adds extra features and a verified badge across Instagram, Facebook and WhatsApp. The apps themselves stay free.
If your business runs WhatsApp through an API platform such as Karyagrah, Meta One does not change how your inbox, templates, bots or broadcasts work. It is mainly aimed at businesses and creators who live inside Meta's own apps, most of all small shops on the free WhatsApp Business app.
What Meta One is
Meta announced Meta One as a subscription that bundles paid features across its apps and its AI assistant. In September 2026 Meta said business and creator plans are available globally, with one caveat: availability can vary by region, by app and by account. So the plan you see in your own account may differ from what a friend in another country sees.
There are four levels, and each one adds to the one below it.
The four plans and what each adds for WhatsApp
Meta lists four business and creator bundles, with benefits and prices that may vary by region, app and account.
Essential starts at US$14.99 a month and includes more access to Meta Business Agent, plus a verified badge, a verified WhatsApp Business app channel and impersonation protection after successful verification.
Advanced starts at US$49.99 and adds professional publishing and analytics features, team access, more linked WhatsApp devices, business broadcast credits and more Business Agent responses.
Expert starts at US$149 and Max at US$499. Meta describes them as the highest levels of feature access and Business Agent capacity, but the public announcement does not list a fixed WhatsApp allowance for each tier. The subscription screen in your own account is the reliable place to see local pricing and the exact benefits offered to you.
What Meta has not said yet
A few things are still open, and they matter before you spend money.
First, Meta's announcement does not say whether the WhatsApp perks apply to a number that runs on the WhatsApp Business Platform (the API). The perks are described in terms of the WhatsApp Business app. Nothing in the announcement says Meta One replaces or changes the Platform.
Second, Meta has not published how many assistant responses or broadcast credits each plan includes, so you cannot yet judge the value of the higher plans.
Third, verification is not automatic. Paying does not guarantee a badge: Meta checks the account first.
Fourth, Meta Verified, the older subscription, still exists. Meta has not clearly explained what happens to people who already pay for it, so do not cancel it on the assumption that Meta One covers it.
Who might want Meta One
It can make sense if fake accounts copy your brand, because impersonation protection and a verified badge are the headline of the entry plan. It can also suit a one-person business on the free WhatsApp Business app that wants Meta's assistant to cover nights and weekends, or that needs more linked devices.
If you are in that group, start with the cheapest plan and judge it on what you can see and test, not on allowances Meta has not published.
Who probably does not need it
A business that already runs WhatsApp through the API with a platform like Karyagrah gets most of what matters from the platform itself: a shared team inbox, approved templates, scheduled broadcasts, bots and AI replies that you control, and your own customer data. Meta's broadcast credits are for broadcasts from the app, and a Meta-run assistant is not a replacement for an assistant that knows your own products, prices and rules.
That does not make Meta One bad. It just solves a different problem from the one an API platform solves.
How to check before you pay
Open the subscription screen in the account you would pay for and start the sign-up without paying. Meta says that screen shows which features your account actually gets.
Look for the features that matter to you, such as the verified badge and the verified channel, and see whether they apply to your number. Compare the price in your own currency. If you already have Meta Verified, check what changes before you cancel anything.
If you are unsure whether your number is on the app, the API or both, ask whoever set up your WhatsApp. It decides which of these perks you can use.

Frequently asked questions
Is Meta One free?
No. The apps stay free, but Meta One is a paid subscription with four levels. Meta lists starting prices of $14.99, $49.99, $149 and $499 a month, and the price in your account can differ by region.
Does Meta One replace the WhatsApp Business API?
Nothing in Meta's announcement says so. Meta One adds features around Meta's apps, while the WhatsApp Business Platform is the messaging infrastructure that API tools such as Karyagrah use.
Will Meta One get my business a verified badge?
Not automatically. Meta describes the badge as pending successful verification, which means Meta checks your account first. Paying does not guarantee it.
Do Karyagrah customers need Meta One?
Usually not. Inbox, templates, broadcasts, bots and AI replies all come from Karyagrah on the official API. Meta One only matters if you specifically want its verified badge, impersonation protection or Meta's own assistant.
Is Meta One available at the same price in every country?
No. Meta says plans, benefits, prices and availability can vary by region, app and account. Start the subscription process in your own account to see the current local offer before paying.
